Please, Not The NATS Again

I joined the RAC yesterday – and then called them out today. (Funny, that!)

Sadly, the patrol man couldn’t fix our little R-Reg purple Micra stuck at home steadfastly refusing to go anywhere. I sort of knew he wouldn’t be able to, despite spending an hour going through every possible option including ripping up the back seat to get at the fuel thingy.

I’m not good with cars, I have to admit, though I have learnt one has to put oil in them else the engine seizes up and costs a grand to replace – after you’ve waited six weeks for the replacement to arrive on a container shipment from Japan.

Eventually, my patrol man admitted defeat. I think it might be the NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System) which was replaced 3 years ago at a cost of over a hundred quid. However he thought it would probably be the £500 central contol unit. Not exactly optimistic, then. We towed the car to a garage in Guildford – via the very long traffic avoiding scenic route.

I just hope the Nissan garage finds it to be a 57p missing fuse. Mind you, it’ll be a long wait; they said they were fully booked up till Tuesday, but would try and have a look before then.

I sit and I wait, thinking I should really now be organising a lift for my night out.
