A Little Common Courtesy
January 7th, 2009 by Paul FosterStill no car.
The Service Manager told me on Tuesday, after I had called him to find out what was going on, that the car would be ready yesterday. Sadly no-one from the garage had the common courtesy to phone and tell me it wasn’t, so I wasn’t particularly pleased, after having to call them again today, to be told it wouldn’t be ready until Saturday.
There were appologies. I explained about the incredibly inconviencing lack of communication, considering we ware supposed to have gone away last night, which they were fully aware of, and at the time didn’t seem to be a problem. I was told that no courtesy car was available and was just left to accept the fact that I’d have to wait until Saturday afternoon before I could go away.
When I discovered that the car was originally looked at on Monday and had they called me then, the car could have been fixed before Thursday, I was not best pleased. Needless to say after about ten minutes thought I called back asking to speak to the MD. Five minutes later the Service Manager called me for a change.
So, here I am, still without our little purple car, but now off to Wittering in a brand new Nissan Micra 1.2 3DR Spirita. Power steering, central locking, electric windows, air conditioning, oh, and joy of joys, a radio!
PS: Just started packing the car ready for the off - seems they don’t make ‘em like they used to! Jasper (our 22 year old pet parrot) won’t be coming with us this weekend. Whilst he was quite happy in his cage on the back seat in our little purple car, and despite the fact that this one is simply a much newer model of exactly the same make, poor old Jasper just won’t fit in through the door! Even tried to get him in through the boot with the seats down. Still no luck. He’s not best pleased!
